AN EXAMPLE OF MEANINGFUL GIFTS FOR MOM FROM DAUGHTER

Valérie: When I became a mother, I put in place a new tradition with my daughter Yaël. Ever since she turned 5 years old, she knew she had to use her imagination to create a unique gift for me for Mother’s Day. Every year, I get very eager to discover what she will make me. The first years were paintings, decorative cards, and painted rocks. As she got older, she became more innovative and took her creativity to another level.
Among my favorites, the Little Red Bag of Quotes she gifted me. She hand-wrote happy quotes on small folded pieces of paper, nicely tucked in a red handmade pouch. I carried it in my purse for ages and opened one up whenever I wanted to brighten my day.
Another favorite was a Coupon Book. She took the time to reflect on what would truly please me, and gifted me with coupons that I could use whenever I’d choose: 3 to 4 tickets for foot and back massages, my choice of a family movie on Sundays, and one very unique ticket to get her to read an entire book. We still go on with this tradition and I really hope that she will pass it on to her kids. It goes to show how a thoughtful little gift is worth a thousand “I love you’s.”

YOUR FONDEST MOTHER’S DAY MEMORY FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD?

Yaël : When I was 10, for Mother’s Day, I created a piece of art made of wood, which I colored in blue and glued on shells and stones. My Mom was so happy that day. The joy and pride she expressed meant everything. She immediately put it in her bathroom, and till this day still has it in the same place. That makes me happy!

FAVORITE ITEM THAT YOU'D LIKE TO GIFT ON MOTHER'S DAY?
