Tropics inspired, whimsical black owned home goods.
Dana Baugh founded Baughaus ceramics in 2016. The black owned home goods shop creates handmade Jamaican-inspired ceramics out of fine porcelain. Pieces are inspired by the Caribbean and designed with a modern aesthetic. Each product from Baugh's black owned home goods collection brings design innovations into the home.
Dana grew up exploring touch, either by making things or taking them apart. Her creative talents were encouraged by her family growing up as she worked on various craft projects. She was introduced to clay by her father at a young age and immediately took to sculpting. She then fell in love with graphic design and used it to take her creations to another level. Dana Baugh pursued Industrial Design as a profession before founding Baughaus. She received a degree in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design in 2010.
Baughaus is recognized as one of Jamaica's premiere ceramic design studios. Each piece infuses Caribbean culture and references to the natural world. This luxury black owned home goods store is a true expression of Tropical Modern. The shapes are simple, marrying crisp whites with colours of the Tropics to produce functional home accessories.
The materials used are locally sourced, non-toxic and eco-friendly, making the black owned home goods collection an excellent place to shop for gifts for a housewarming or for a special occassion.
